According to her mother, she was diagnosed as schizophrenic when she was 15 y.o. People with that condition usually show symptoms in mid to late teens so it sounds about right. (I was a therapist for many yrs is how I know that.) And yes, she was definitely an alcoholic, I've read personal stories from people who knew her. Very sad, since she was such a beautiful woman. Sadly, when she was older she really aged and was just about unrecognizable. Hollywood does seem to have a way of being really, really harsh with actors/actresses, so many of them had lots of difficulties in their lives.
